Instagram font generator

Type once, get your text in seventeen styles. Copy the one you like into your bio, a caption or a comment. It all happens in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

A bio is 150 characters. Make them look like you meant it.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste your text in the box.
  2. Pick a style from the list. Each one shows your text already converted.
  3. Press Copy, then paste it into your Instagram bio, caption or comment.

Good to know

  • Instagram's bio holds 150 characters and a caption 2,200, and styled letters count as characters like any other.
  • Style a few words, not the whole bio: a bold name and a plain description reads better than five fonts.
  • Keep hashtags and your @username in plain text. Instagram links them by their plain letters.

About the Instagram font generator

How do I use these fonts on Instagram?

Type your text, copy the style you like and paste it where you'd type normally. In the Instagram app, open Edit profile to change your bio or start a caption as usual; the styled text pastes in like any other text.

Are these real fonts?

No. They're Unicode characters that happen to look like fonts: mathematical bold and italic letters, circled letters and so on. Because they're text, they paste anywhere, and because they're text, they can't be restyled afterwards.

Will everyone see them correctly?

Most phones and computers draw them. Some older devices or apps show empty boxes for the rarer styles (fraktur and double-struck are the most likely), so test the one you pick on a second device.

Are there downsides?

Styled text is Unicode, not a font: it pastes anywhere text does, but screen readers may read it letter by letter and search may not match it, so keep it for short phrases and leave hashtags and usernames plain.
