Discord font generator

Fancy text for your Discord display name, server name or About me. Type, copy, paste. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

Display names are short. Pick a style that survives 32 characters.

How to use it

  1. Type your name or phrase.
  2. Choose a style. The preview is your exact text.
  3. Copy it and paste it into Discord's display name, server nickname or About me.

Good to know

  • In messages Discord has its own formatting: wrap text in ** for bold, * for italics, __ for underline and ~~ for strikethrough. These styles are for the places that formatting doesn't reach, like names and About me.
  • Display names are short, so a wide style like fraktur can look cramped. Preview it in a server before you commit.
  • Server admins sometimes block unusual characters in names. If a nickname is refused, try a plainer style.

About the Discord font generator

How do I use these fonts on Discord?

Type your text, copy the style you like and paste it where you'd type normally. In Discord, open User Settings, then Profiles, to change your display name and About me; for a server nickname use Edit Server Profile.

Are these real fonts?

No. They're Unicode characters that happen to look like fonts: mathematical bold and italic letters, circled letters and so on. Because they're text, they paste anywhere, and because they're text, they can't be restyled afterwards.

Will everyone see them correctly?

Most phones and computers draw them. Some older devices or apps show empty boxes for the rarer styles (fraktur and double-struck are the most likely), so test the one you pick on a second device.

Are there downsides?

Styled text is Unicode, not a font: it pastes anywhere text does, but screen readers may read it letter by letter and search may not match it, so keep it for short phrases and leave hashtags and usernames plain.
