Username checker
Type a name. We check Bluesky, GitHub, Hacker News and Mastodon for you, and give you the profile address to open on Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube and the rest.
I'll tell you what I can check, and what I can't.
How to use it
- Type the username you want.
- Read the four checked results: taken, free, or not allowed on that platform.
- Open the links for every other platform and look.
Good to know
- We only say taken or free where a public lookup exists. For Instagram, TikTok, X and the others we give you the address, because guessing would be wrong too often.
- Check more than one spelling: dots, underscores and a trailing number are how people get a handle.
- Names that are free everywhere are rare. Decide which platforms matter most, and be flexible on the rest.
About the Username checker
Which platforms does it really check?
Bluesky, GitHub, Hacker News and Mastodon (mastodon.social). Each has a public lookup, so the answer is real.
Why not Instagram, TikTok or X?
They have no public lookup we can use without an account. We link you to the profile address instead: if a profile opens, the name is taken.
Does "free" mean I can register it?
It means nobody holds it right now. A platform can still refuse a name for its own rules, and a free name can be taken before you register it.
Do you keep the names I check?
No. We don't store them. A daily count and a scrambled version of your IP address enforce the daily limit, and answers are cached for an hour.
Want this every day?
The free plan watches one brand on all ten platforms, weekly. No card.
